Bazaruto Archipelago Dhow Tour – 4 nights / 5 days

Day 1 – The Arrival:

You arrive at Johannesburg International Airport and catch a connecting flight to Vilanculos Airport, where you will be met and taken to Sailaway Safaris Base Camp, situated 12 kilometres north of Vilanculos. This is where you will spend you first night.

 

Day 2 and 3 – Exploring the Bazaruto Archipelago:

You set off for the islands first thing in the morning, and spend the following 2 days sailing between the islands and exploring. You will have the opportunity to climb enormous sand dunes and take in extraordinary views, snorkel on exquisite coral reefs and visit freshwater crocodile lagoons.

 

Day 4 and 5 – The return journey:

On the final day you will spend half the day on the islands before returning to Vilanculos in the afternoon. Your final night will be spent back at Sailaway Safaris Base Camp before returning to Vilanculos Airport the following morning. – Dhow sailing boats have been used on the Indian Ocean for many centuries. There are many types of dhows, but almost all of them have a triangular or lateen sail.

– Citizens of the European Union don’t need a Visa for South Africa.

– You can get your Visa for Mozambique at Vilanculos Airport. (85 USD$ to be paid on arrival)
