A hidden hand-built lodge on the dazzling Mozambique shores of Lake Niassa. Nkwichi Lodge offers a rare chance to savour an unspoilt corner of real Africa.

Nkwichi Lodge Location

Nkwichi Lodge is located in the north-western corner of Mozambique, on the eastern side of Lake Malawi, close to the islands of Likoma and Chizumulu.

Nkwichi Lodge offers a choice of six individually designed chalets within the main lodge and two unique private houses set a short distance away. All chalets have thatched roofs with open plan bedrooms to catch the cool breezes from the lake. The chalets are located far enough apart to provide privacy. Each one is designed differently with their own unique characteristics. Some are built around rocks and trees surrounding the chalet. Each chalet has its own en-suite bathroom cleverly designed so that you can bathe outside under the tree canopy in complete privacy. All of the bathrooms have showers hung from overhanging branches with hot and cold running water. Some have bathtubs carved out of the living rock.

Nkwichi Lodge sleeps a maximum of 14 guests, ensuring that all guests receive personal service and attention. There is also a wide variety of activities and amenities to choose from.

Food & beverage

Food is an all inclusive affair and a very unique one too, with no 2 meals being the same during a stay. Dinners are a moveable feast, with a number of options available to guests, depending on the occasion and company.
