The province of Inhambane is probably the most developed region in Mozambique with regards to tourism. Inhambane City is the capital of the province, with Barra Beach and Tofo Beach right on the city's door step. Both beaches are renowned for the excellent diving with manta rays and whale sharks all year round.
More destinations have recently added to the diving map in Inhambane, where Zavora, Pomene as well as Morrongulo offer amazing opportunities for unspoiled diving in breath-taking locations.
In the north of the Inhambane province, the city of Vilanculos is located and the National Park of the Bazaruto Archipelago hosts some pristine islands with high end luxury lodges and hotels.

Tofo
|
|
The small fishing village of Tofo is located on the eastern shores of the Inhambane Peninsula between the open Indian Ocean and a small inland reed - lake system. The “island style” atmosphere of the village is remarkably colourful, with a great mixture of a local market, local arts and positive latin vibes. The crystal clear waters, with the beautiful white sand beaches are ideal for holiday makers, back packers, scuba divers and relaxation seekers. Real crowds are still unknown in Tofo and with a little walk away from the main beach, you will always be able to find your own little spot of pristine beach. |
