Danforth Lodge Location

Ideally situated, on the southern shores of Lake Malawi, in a fishing village known as Cape Maclear.



Danforth Lodge has eight en-suite, air-conditioned rooms, tastefully decorated in cool, nautical colours and all opening onto a large patio. All rooms have spectacular views of the lake and look out over Thumbi West Island. The garden has shady lawns, leading to a sparkling, beach side infinity pool. The lodge also has a PADI scuba diving centre, water sports and activities are all on site and easily accessible to resident guests.



The owners, Michelle and Howard, will see to it that guests have a truly memorable stay with them. Danforth Lodge is an ideal establishment for families, as there are many activities on offer to keep the kids busy. Danforth Lodge also boasts Mufusa, a fully equipped and crewed ocean going catamaran, which sleeps eight guests in comfort and style. Mufasa can be chartered to any destination on the Lake.


Food & beverage

Danforth Lodge operates on a full board basis which includes three delicious meals each day, plus teas, coffees, cakes and snacks. The local and international chefs take pride in presenting a tempting selection of dishes for the buffet table, using the freshest of ingredients. Early meals and child friendly menus can be arranged.
